Crafted with care by Greek ceramicist Maria Alexiou, the Geotropa Vessel is a sculptural ode to the unseen beauty of the natural world. Born in Athens in 1995, Maria is an architecture graduate whose deep passion for clay is shaped by her love of organic forms and earthy tones.
The Geotropa series draws inspiration from fungi—nature’s quiet architects. For Maria, mushrooms represent more than just their delicate, hidden presence. They are a glimpse into a vast, interconnected system that supports life beneath the surface. As she describes, “Fungi shapes are in themselves a frozen frame of a dance that unfolds. Mushrooms are to be searched for, hidden and fragile. Underneath what we discover is a whole new world.”
Each vessel is handcrafted, unique in form, and infused with this poetic perspective. The earthy textures and subtle shapes invite contemplation and curiosity, bridging the realms of design and nature.
