Egypt, the 1960s. Nasser has been at the helm of the country since 1954, and the changes brought about by his regime are beginning to make themselves felt.

A group of Egyptian citizens of European descent—some born in Alexandria, others who chose it as their home—gather every evening at the restaurant of Greek-Egyptian George Artinou, where they drink late into the night at the bar and discuss their lives and the world around them.

What unites them is their love for this uniquely beautiful city, where they have so far lived their lives freely, as well as their friendship with one another, despite the fact that their attitudes toward the authorities and their views on political and social developments do not always align. Their differences occasionally lead to tension.

A series of events closely linked to the country’s political life will shape the course of their lives, radically changing the future of some of them.
